Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy department was established since the inception of the Hospital. It is saddled with the responsibility of assessment, diagnosis, treatment and working to prevent diseases and disability through physical means. It is a drugless method of therapeutics which relies on the use of physical exercises, manipulation and sophisticated gadgets for treatment.
The department is structured into Out and In-patient Unit
Out-patient unit comprises of;
- Electrotheraphy section
- Gymnasium section
- Paediatric section
- Speciality clinic
In-patient unit (wards) comprise of;
- Medicine/neurology
- Surgery/orthopaedic
- Paedictric
- A&E /ICU
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
SERVICES RENDERED
- To assess and render curative/rehabilitative management to patients.
- To organize programmes on preventive/corrective management of patients for possible referral.
- To assess patients for possible referral for other medical/surgical interventions.
- To organize and encourage hospital based physical fitness for clients.
- To offer clinical training for physiotherapy students and corps members from different institutions.
- To encourage specialization into clinical sub-specialties.
- To participate in community based rehabilitation programmes.
- To encourage clinical research and publication.
